Dawson middle school students volunteer at Share-a-Gift for 17th year

For the 17th year, Dawson fifth and sixth-graders volunteered with Share-A-Gift this holiday season. Share-A-Gift has been helping children of low-income families in the Boulder County area with holiday gifts since 1972. Dawson students collected donations at the school for three weeks, and then both grades piled into buses and delivered them to Share-A-Gift. The fifth-sixth students, along with a few eighth-grade peer leaders, then spent the morning helping sort hundreds of toys donated by the wider community so that families can select something just right for their children.

Sue Dague of Share-A-Gift said to the school, "I wanted to thank you for allowing Dawson students to come and help us with Share-A-Gift again this year. I have been there each year when the students come, and I can honestly say that I don't know what we would do without them! They are respectful and hard-working and serve our community like no other school in the district. We cannot thank you enough."
