Marissa Gradoz (Niwot) started for Colorado College in a season-opening loss to St. Mary’s University, 62-38.  Gradoz had three points, and collected five rebounds, which was second on the squad. Gradoz also started in an 89-39 loss to Mesa State.  She had one rebound and a steal in 12 minutes of action, but failed to score.

Meghan Heimstra (Silver Creek), a junior forward for Colorado State University, and two-year letter winner for the Rams, has been sidelined for the season due to a hip injury.  Heimstra injured the hip last season as a result of overuse, but an off-season of rest and rehabilitation did not lead to recovery.  Last season, she led the Rams in rebounding and blocked shots, and was third in scoring.  Heimstra will redshirt this season to gain an extra year of eligibility.
