Megan Horsch (Niwot) has firmly established herself as the top runner for the University of Northern Colorado.  Horsch finished eighth overall at the Tiger Cross Country Open at Fort Hays State with a 17:45.20 in the 5K, helping UNC to a 7th-place finish.  She is the first UNC women’s runner to post a sub-18 minute time on the course.  Earlier, Horsch finished ninth among Division I runners and 24th overall in the Rocky Mountain Shootout in Boulder, leading UNC to a 3rd-place finish.  Her time was almost 58 seconds better than last season, and 26 seconds better than the top Bears’ runner last year at the meet.

David Perry (Niwot) is redshirting this season at the University of Portland, one of the top cross-country schools in the nation.  Perry, who is approximately the 12th fastest runner on the squad, plans to run in an international competition in San Diego later this year, which is not affiliated with college squads.
