Freeman had two shots and one shot on goal in a 2-overtime 2-1 loss to Colorado Christian. Earlier Freeman had three shots and one shot on goal in a 4-1 loss to Mesa State.
Erin Gunther (Silver Creek) scored the second and third goals for Creighton University in a 6-2 win over Wyoming. Gunther’s first score came on a crossing pass which she put into the upper left corner of the goal. Her second goal came on a penalty kick. Gunther also scored the first goal for the Bluejays in a 5-0 win over Loyola of Chicago. She later added an assist. Gunther has started all 11 games and is tied for second on the team with four goals. Kate Russell (Silver Creek) has started all eight games this season for the University of Colorado, which is 4-4. Russell has one assist on the season. Lauren Shaner (Niwot) has played in six of the eight games for CU but has yet to score. Both play midfield for the Buffs. Danielle Figliola (Silver Creek) has scored two goals for Drake University, starting eight of ten games. She scored the final goal in a 3-1 win over North Dakota. She also scored the first goal on a header off a corner kick in a 5-0 win over the University of Missouri at Kansas City. University of Dallas midfielder/forward Ryan Meske (Niwot) was named the Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. Meske, a senior, scored two goals in a 2-1 victory over East Texas Baptist, leading Dallas to its first win of the year. His game-winning kick came off of a second half penalty kick. Jeli Schira (Niwot) has played in all seven games for Colorado School of Mines, starting two of them. Schira, a forward, has one goal on the season for the Orediggers, who are 4-1-2. She scored the fourth goal of the game for Mines in a 5-2 win over Colorado Christian, icing the game after CC had scored twice to cut the lead to 3-2. Lauren Braman (Niwot) is a sophomore defender for the University of Nevada. Braman has started all 10 games for Nevada, which is 5-3-2 on the season. Gabby Najera (Silver Creek) has started all six games for St. Cloud State this fall. She has one assist on the season. Janelle Kramer (Silver Creek) has started all 10 games as a defender for the University of Northern Colorado. Kramer has the third-highest number of minutes played for UNC, and has one assist on the season. UNC has a record of 6-3-1. Niwot High soccer player Santiago Velez has verbally committed to play at Ohio State next year. Velez led Niwot to a state championship as a junior. |
