Niwot High grads Stephanie Ross and Jen Albert Morgan are coaching the 8th grade girls competitive team for Niwot Youth Sports.  Both played basketball in college. Ross is now a dentist in Longmont, while Morgan is an attorney with the Colorado Department of Education.

NHS Senior Lea Gralewski made a running 3-point shot from near half-court just before the buzzer at the end of the first quarter in a win over Greeley Central.  Gralewski banked the shot off the backboard to give the Cougars a 12-10 advantage.

NHS junior Sara Bishop is also an accomplished equestrian when she’s not on the basketball court.  Bishop competes in barrel racing at various rodeos throughout the area.

Former NHS player Darin Reese is the boys basketball coach at Mead High School.  Reese spent several years coaching at Mountain View before moving to Mead.

Marissa Gradoz (Niwot) scored a career-high 19 points for Colorado College to lead the team to a 68-62 win over Ogelthorpe University.  Gradoz hit seven of nine shots from the floor and also collected 10 rebounds for her first double-double.  With Colorado College leading only by three points in the last minute, she was fouled, stepped to the line and made two free throws to ensure a victory.  The 5’7” Gradoz was most impressive on defense, holding 6’2” Sarah Giles to only seven points.
