Christine Jennings (Niwot) gave an interview to Swimming World concerning her experience in Dubai where her teammate drowned in an Open Water swimming race.  The interview can be found at www.swimmingworldmagazine.com.

Jennings won the Queen of the Sea (Rainha de Mar) 7K Open Water Swim at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil Dec. 12, but it took a literal sprint to the finish to win.  Four swimmers reached the shallow water at roughly the same time, but Jennings was faster on her feet than the others in reaching the finish line on land, taking the title.  Jennings charged through the soft sand to beat Brazil Olympian Poliana Okimoto.  A day earlier saw the same result with Jennings beating Okimoto on land in the 1K Grid Sprint in Brazil.

Makayla Palmer (Niwot) has the third-best time in the 200 Backstroke for Whitworth College through meets of Dec. 6.  Palmer also has the sixth, seventh and eighth best times in the 500, 200 and 50 Freestyle, respectively.

Lily Yie (Niwot) won the 200 Breaststroke for Babson College in a dual meet win over Simmons College.  Yie also took second in the 100 IM and second in the 50 Breaststroke.

Laura Farrar (Niwot) helped Widener University to its fifth straight win over Division III opponents with a 101-95 victory over Washington (Md.).  Farrar won the 200 IM and set a new school record in the 200 Breaststroke.  She also swam a leg on the second-place 400 Freestyle Relay.
