Gabby Najera (Silver Creek) was named Honorable Mention by the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in a vote of conference coaches.  She is a senior captain for St. Cloud State University.  Najera, a midfielder-defender, started all 19 games for St. Cloud and played the second-most minutes for the season, posting four assists.  St. Cloud finished with a record of 10-8-1.

Janelle Kramer

(Silver Creek), a junior defender for the University of Northern Colorado, started all 19 games, posting three assists on the season.  UNC finished at 10-6-3.

Lauren Braman (Niwot), a sophomore defender, played the entire game for the University of Nevada in a season-ending 2-1 victory over Hawaii.  Nevada finished the season 7-9-3.

Peter Freeman (Niwot) played all 90 minutes for Adams State as a midfielder in the season finale, a 3-0 loss to Fort Lewis, which finished second in the conference.  Adams State finished its second season of soccer with a 1-16 record, but continued to show improvement over the course of the season.  Fort Lewis beat Adams State 6-0 earlier in the season.

Erin Gunther (Silver Creek) played the entire game and had two shots on goal, but did not convert for Creighton University in a season-ending 4-2  loss to Minnesota in the first round of the NCAA tournament.  Gunther started 20 of 21 games, and was fourth on the squad with eight goals and three assists. She scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Missouri State on a penalty kick. She also had an assist in a 5-0 victory over Evansville.  She came off the bench for the only time all season to play 70 minutes and score the tying goal on a penalty kick in a 2-1 win over Illinois State.

Danielle Figliola (Silver Creek) had an assist for Drake University in the final game of the regular season, a 2-0 win over Northern Iowa. Figliola started 15 of 19 games for Drake, and finished fifth in points with three goals and two assists on the season.

Kate Russell (Silver Creek) scored the first of four goals in a shootout for the University of Colorado in a 5-4 loss to Texas A&M in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament.  The loss came on the final kick of a shootout after 110 minutes of scoreless play.  CU ended the season with a record of 8-9-3. She ended the season as the Buffs’ leading scorer with three goals and five assists. Russell, a midfielder, was named second team All-Conference in the Big 12.  Lauren Shaner (Niwot) played in 11 games for CU but did not score.

Ryan Meske (Niwot) scored the final goal for the University of Dallas in a 2-0 victory over Colorado College in the last home game of the season.  Dallas finished 7-10 on the year, losing the last game to Austin College, 2-1.  Meske, a midfielder, scored the first goal of the final game, but two unanswered goals by Austin College provided the margin of victory.  He was named the Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week for his efforts. Meske was also named by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) as Honorable Mention All-American for 2010. He ended his career in the top ten all-time in school history, finishing first in games played (78), fifth in points (86), fourth in goals (32), and sixth in assists (22). For the season, Meske started all 17 games, and was first on the team in goals (10), second in assists (4), and first in points (22).

Angelica “Jelli” Schira (Niwot) played in 20 of 21 games for Colorado School of Mines, starting twice.  Schira, a midfielder, had one goal and one assist on the season.  She also earned recognition on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.  Mines finished the season with a record of 11-6-4, losing on a 5-4 shootout to Metro State in the first round of the NCAA Division II tournament.
