Jonathan Sdao of Niwot scored the only goal for the Corpus Christi IceRays, but it wasn’t enough as the IceRays fell to the Texas Tornado, 3-1.  Sdao is in his first season with the IceRays.

Michael Sdao of Niwot scored the game-winning goal for Princeton on a power play in a 4-3 victory over Brown.  Sdao’s goal came early in the third period and broke a 3-3 tie.  He also scored in a 5-3 loss to Yale at the end of the first period.  Sdao later assisted on the first goal of the game for Princeton in a 2-1 win over Cornell.  Princeton is 4-4 so far this season.

Michael Sdao was the subject of a post by Brian Sullivan on Silver Seven, an unofficial blog of the Ottawa Senators, who drafted Sdao in the seventh round of the 2009 NHS Entry Draft. Sullivan wrote, “Sdao proved himself as a tough, durable, and reliable force on Princeton’s back end [last season], but this year he is showing flashes of much, much more. ‘He can really shoot the puck, and he’s in even better shape: he’s definitely stronger, he’s definitely quicker, and he’s as focused on becoming the best hockey player as he can possibly be,’ said his head coach, Guy Gadowsky. ‘I won’t say he’s changing - he’s still going to be a tough, hard-nosed defenceman - but he can definitely shoot the puck.’ Listed at 6’4” and 220 lbs, Sdao’s drive and focus are what have really thrilled Gadowsky. ‘I tell you what, he’s gonna develop to his maximum, that we know. He doesn’t leave any stone unturned in preparing himself and getting better. He has an incredible work ethic and takes his development very seriously. We were thrilled with him last year, and for all the work he’s done this summer, I think he’s even taken another step.’”
