The Rotary Club of Niwot named Spencer Wolfe its Niwot High School student of the year. Wolfe was presented with the award at the group’s June 24 meeting.

Wolfe plans on studying history at Boston College, citing his history teachers from seventh grade on as inspiration for his chosen career path: teaching history, perhaps at the college level.

Throughout high school, Wolfe participated in school-sponsored civic groups as well as clubs and sports. He has been a student in the St. Vrain district since kindergarten, and participated in the International Baccalaureate program at NHS.

As part of his IB tests, Wolfe wrote a 20-page research/argumentative paper on modern interpretations of two Roman biographers of Alexander the Great. He was awarded the highest marks possible for the paper.
