A crowd of more than 120 people gathered at Left Hand Corner for the First Friday Art Walk on Nov. 4, then proceeded down Second Avenue to the Excel Electric building for the dedication of the “Spirit of Niwot” mural. At 160 feet long, it is believed to be the largest mural in Colorado and extends from the west to the north side of the building.

Denise Chamberlain, the primary mural artist, thanked her primary assistant David Bowes, other local artists, the NBA, the LID and the NCAA, for their contributions.
Cotton Burden, representing the LID’s Revitalization Committee, introduced Corey Heil of Excel Electric and thanked the Heil family, including Shane Heil and John Heil, for making the building available for the mural.

Many local artists – young and old - contributed $25 to add a flower to the mural and help paint a piece of Niwot history.
The mural, depicting many recognizable Niwot landmarks, was displayed to the public under lights, with refreshments and live music by Randall Dubis, Jill Watkins and Joe Pacheco to complete the evening.
