Oktoberfest 2011 is coming to Niwot on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 3-9 p.m. in Cottonwood Square in front of Niwot Market. Now in its third year, this Rotary Club fundraiser promises beer, brats and a whole lot more.

Margaret Hix, this year’s Oktoberfest coordinator, said there will be something for everyone: bouncy castles, face painting, balloon sculptures and more for the kids. Music lovers of all ages can enjoy dancing to live music from the Niwot Community Semi-Marching Free Grange Band and the Camillo de Salles German Band.

Come hungry (and thirsty) because there will be plenty of authentic German food, beer and wine. In between the dancing, eating and drinking, you can browse the vendor booths all evening.

Once again, the Rotary Club will raffle a scooter with all the proceeds going to fund local and international Rotary projects.
Hix said, “It’s going to be a ton of fun. And all the money we raise goes right back into funding our projects.”

The Rotary could always use a few more volunteers to help out with the event. Anyone interested in volunteering should call Jo Kirkenaur at 760-579-3873.
