Local Store + Longtime Customer = $0 LID Bond Balance March 2011 You couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting – Niwot Feed and Rental and long time customer Sabrina Gerringer’s purchase of shavings for her horses and a salt lick – to pay off the Local Improvement District’s $700,000 bonds. According to LID representative Euvaldo Valdez, on Feb. 4 “the first customer after 4:20 p.m. who rings the cash register will be the customer that will pay off the final dollar on a $700,000 bond issue that we floated in 1993.” Funds raised from the bond were used for gutters, drainage, lights and a master plan. Valdez said that everything has been accomplished and the master plan is still active. “We’re at the maintenance stage now,” he added. Niwot Feed and Rental, owned by Kay and Steve Rollman, was chosen as the location for the prize basket give-away by members of the LID and NBA who used a random-number generator and a map of Niwot to select the location.

Gerringer won a gift basket worth nearly $1,000 that included gift cards and other items donated by Niwot merchants. When Gail Ludwig of the NBA told Gerringer there was close to $1,000 worth of prizes, Gerringer said she was tickled pink. “I love Niwot,” she said. “I shop here all the time. I love to keep it local. And I love Kay and Steve.” Niwot merchants provided the following items for the LID Payoff Gift Basket held on Feb. 4:
